A Tribute To Obiajulu Nwaozor a.k.a MC Loph

Obiajulu Nwaozor popularly known as MC Loph is a Highlife, Hip hop and Rap artiste from Anambra State, South Eastern Nigeria. He graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he studied Sociology and Anthropology. He was the only son from a family of four. A true son of the soil, humble hero and trendsetter.
MC Loph was God’s gift to Igbo rap. He was among the pioneers of the artform and he stayed true to it. In 2009, the commercial rapper dropped his debut album where the popular hit song Osondi Owendi(A remake of the classic originally recorded by the late Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe) featuring Flavour N’abania came from. The song was well-received nationwide and MC Loph’s performance earned him several nominations and awards including the Best Highlife Music Video at Nigeria Music Video Awards(NMVA) 2009.
In 2011, he got signed to Morgan Entertainment and was still looking strong and agile ready to drop another album after a successful European tour. MC Loph would have made more fortune than he could have ever imagined if only he lived for the next couple of years. Every song on the new album in the making was a masterpiece with a diverse variety of guest artiste appearances from the likes of Faze, Flavour, Polaino, Nero, Storm Rex, Duncan Mighty also expected on it.
Sometime in June, We met up with him during one of his promo tours where he informed us of his newly found love, marriage arrangements and that the occasion is likely to hold in a few months from that time. However, this did not happen as the prolific South Eastern Nigerian artiste died in an auto crash along the infamous Benin/Ore Road on his way back to Anambra State from Lagos.
